When this leading mortgage banking firm was tasked with building a new primary data center to accommodate the company’s explosive growth, PlanNet was retained to assist with planning and design of the new 10,000 square foot data center facility as part of a 200,000 SF headquarters relocation in Irvine, California. PlanNet worked with the key stakeholders including Business Continuity Services, Information Technology and Facilities to develop Design Criteria that were utilized by the Owner’s A/E team to develop a complete set of construction documents.
The Tier 3 Data Center, which was completed in January 2003, includes 4,000 square feet of raised floor, stand-by generator, redundant UPS and cooling, dual authentication security, FM-200 and pre-action fire suppression, and state-of-the-art monitoring and controls. They subsequently retained PlanNet to develop Operation and Maintenance procedures for the primary Irvine data center as well as back-up sites in California, Vermont and Florida. PlanNet was recently retained to provide IT Consulting and Project Management services for the build-out and migration of the company’s new DR site in Las Vegas, NV.
The Data Center, which includes 6,000 SF of raised floor plus office and support space, was successfully completed in April 2005. PlanNet managed all facets of the technology migration including server, storage, network and telecommunications, and served as the IT interface to the design and construction team.
